Happy Thursday, y'all and thank the good Lord that this week is almost done. Who is ready for the weekend? This girl is!
This week has been a bit of a roller coaster, but everyone seems to have survived so far. This includes Louie! Here is the most recent update: I dropped him off at the Drs. yesterday morning alone because Stephen was already at work. I felt so horrible leaving him there, but knew it was best for him to get treated. I called to check on him several times during the day and was told that they decided to do a split treatment, and that he seemed fine after getting his first shot. They said I could pick him up anytime before 5. I was so excited that he would get to spend the night at home with us where he belongs, but I was also nervous that something, anything would go wrong. Stephen and I picked him up together just before they closed and talked to the Vet. Louie did not seem to be himself, but I am happy to report that he did eat his food and start acting a little more "normal" for him as the evening wore on. Praise the Lord!!
Split treatment means that we get to do this all over again in about a month. The Dr. decided that it was better for Louie and would give him a better chance of survival with doing the split treatment, as opposed to a more aggressive treatment where he would get a second shot today. This gives his little body a month to recover, which I think is good!
Kisses for Louie before leaving for the Vet on Wednesday...
So now for 6 weeks we have to give him a baby aspirin daily and restrict his activity. He took his pill this morning without any problems once I hid it in a small piece of cheese. He likes his cheese just like his momma! :) Thankfully, restricting his activity should not be too difficult because he is pretty relaxed and calm most of the time. The only thing I am worried about it his going up and down our stairs. Do you think that is too much activity for him? His Dr. said it was probably okay, but I don't think I want to take any chances!
This week our menu has been kind of exciting for me. I really like trying new recipes and usually I try one new one per week, but not this week. Already we have had crock pot chicken cordon-blue, tonight we are having wet burritos and tomorrow we are having crock pot sweet and sour meatballs over cilantro lime rice. Can you say yum? If all the recipes are a hit, I will definitely share them with you all!
I already know that this:
was a hit!
Check tomorrow for the best (in my opinion) layered turtle cheesecake recipe around!
And just to make your day better, some sweet pictures of me and Louie. Have I mentioned how much I love this pup? Seriously, to say that I am attached is a complete understatement!
Have a great day, friends!

I am glad that Louie is doing good and is home with you guys! Keep us updated. I think the stairs every once in awhile is not too much work, but i would just watch him to make sure he isn't doing it all the time, you won't want him to forget how to use them :)
You have such a cute dog- hope he gets all better! And that turtle cheesecake looks amazing!
oh, i hope your pup is doing okay! also, that cheesecake looks heavenly! i'll definitely be back for the recipe.
