So this is an old blog from sometime ago, but when I came across it this morning it was like reading it for the first time. Hope you enjoy!
1. Faith is the ability to not panic.
2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you prayed, don't worry.
3. As a child of God, prayer is kinda like calling home every day.
4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
5. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so he can untangle the knot.
6. Do the math. Count your blessings.
7. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
8. Dear God: I have a problem. It's me.
9. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.
10. Laugh every day - it's like inner jogging.
11. The most important things in your home are the people.
12. Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. (Preach it!)
13. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open. Come on in.
14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.
16. We do not remember days but moments. Life moves too fast so enjoy your precious moments.
17. Nothing is real to you until you experience it; otherwise it's just hearsay.
18. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done.
19. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the turtle, it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.
20. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting. Leave gentle fingerprints on the soul of another for the angels to read. I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well.

What is up with Florida weather?!
What is going on with the weather in this state? It is impossible to plan activities outside, or even what to wear. On any given day, it may be in the 60s in the morning, which leads me to believe it will get warmer throughout the day-but no, it gets colder! Yesterday is a prime example: It was basically warm yesterday when I left for work, but when I left for lunch around noon thirty it was freezing. Okay, maybe it wasn't actually freezing, but I am a Florida girl so anything below 60 is considered freezing temperatures :) Needless to say, I was not prepared for cold weather. I am so ready for spring and summer! I like being able to wear flip flops and not need jackets (even though I have some cute ones!)
Here is an overview of our week in Florida weather-wise:
MONDAY: 50 in the morning, 70 in the afternoon
TUESDAY: HOT all day, 83 at one point
WEDNESDAY: 60 in the morning, 65 in the afternoon, rain ALL night long
THURSDAY: 70(ish) in the morning, 50 in the afternoon, rain ALL day long
FRIDAY: currently 45 degrees with no sun and misting rain. Yuck.
Hopefully the weather this weekend will be better, and warmer :) I would like to see the sun in the sunshine state!

Oh, funny lyrics :)

"Combos And Skittles"
So this is how the story goes.
I want everybody to know.
We love Skittles and Combos.
So bring some to our next show.
From our head down to our toes.
We love Skittles and Combos.
So if you want to see our faces glow
Just bring some to our next show.
Deny us Combos
Refuse us Skittles
I admit those words hurt a little
But we know it'll be okay
If you just send some our way
Mmm that's it mm it makes me hungry ha
It makes you hungry too
This is one of the oh so many random songs Relient K has recorded. I love them, their music, and there funny songs with little meaning (not all their songs have little meaning though)! So, how many bags of skittles and combos do you think the band got after this song was released?? Just something to think about :)
Things I love:

"Clothes never look any good... food just makes me fatter... shoes always fit."-In Her Shoes
Every girl has something that she loves and can never get enough of. Well, for me it is shoes. I have wayyyyy to many pairs of shoes. All different styles, colors, heels, flats-you name it. This morning while trying to avoid a wardrobe malfunction as I like the call them, my malfunction was my shoes. It is pretty rare that I wear the first outfit I put on in the morning, this means I usually come home to a bedroom covered with clean clothes on the floor, on the bed-everywhere! Surprisingly enough, when I was getting ready this morning I thought I have no idea what to wear today. I went into my closet and pulled out a perfectly acceptable ensemble first try. That almost NEVER happens, so I am pretty excited. Turn out, I was excited too quickly.
Now, I just needed to figure out what shoes to wear. I think I tried on around 7 different pairs of shoes and rejected all of them with this chosen outfit. You guessed it, those shoes are now littered on my bedroom floor. It would have been just as easy to put them back in the boxes they came from, but instead I threw them in all different corners of my room. After all, now I have something to do when I get home :) The only reason I have shoes on right now is because I was running late and had to leave the house so I settled for some black heels that match almost anything.
I love shoes, even when they cause me an extra ten minutes to get ready. No knowing what shoes to wear because I have so many is a problem I love to have!
Other things I love are: friends, ice cream, flowers, fall, sunny summer days with friends, Disney, traveling, pictures, the beach, movies, college football and candles. This blog is dedicated to Libby, who always comments on my cute shoes and also shares my love for leather soles :) Heart you Libby!

Do you have a medical degree? I didn't think so!
Something has really been bothering me lately and I have decided to post a venting blog about it so here goes: Most of you know that I have been blessed (ha) with Type 1 Diabetes, nothing new there. Okay, well what gets me all the time is people telling what and when to eat. For example, I cannot tell you how many times at a family gathering or a birthday party does someone come up to me and ask me if I should be eating that cake or ice cream or whatever else is on my plate containing sugar. It happens all the time! This question usually develops into an argument which I am passionate about. I usually feel the need to answer their question with a question, such as the title of this blog. Because of the lack of education regarding diabetes and the two different types (yes, there are two types) people assume that I cannot have sugar. If you would like a rundown on type 1 and type 2, please ask. I would be happy to enlighten you :)
NEWSFLASH: this pink (sweet, I know!) INSULIN pump that I wear enables to me eat sugar, anytime, anywhere. Also, I did NOT do this to myself. All the comments like oh she eats sugar so that's why shes on insulin are bogus. No, I did not do this to myself, and no it is not possible for me to control this disease with diet and exercise. So please, next time you see me eating something containing sugar-don't lecture me about the effects sugar has on a diabetic. I am sure I know more about it than you do anyways, unless you are in the same situation as me-then you feel my pain.
Okay, done venting for now!

Almost back to normal :)
I have resumed operating life at my normal pace :) Well, almost. I have an appointment on Thursday to have the stitches removed. Let me just tell you, that I am SO over eating soft foods. Can I have some chicken wings please?!?!? (side note, Yes I officially eat chicken wings now!) I am really excited to be able to actually eat food with substance, I have had about all the Jello and ice cream I can handle!
Over the weekend, we had a fun girls day on Sunday. My Mom and I went to the movies with Keri (BFF since age 2) and her Mom to see Bride Wars. It was hilarious, and defiantly worth seeing in the theaters. Keri and I went on a scavenger hunt for food I could eat in the mall food court and we were quite successful. First we stopped at the pizza place and got spaghetti noodles, and soft bread sticks. Then we hit the smoothie cafe for smoothies and lastly we got the best cupcake ever from CamiCakes. Sharing a cupcake was genius because I could totally eat the icing which is my favorite part and Keri could have the cake which is her favorite part! This little cupcake was a piece of heaven, I am pretty sure. Yumm! Needless to say, our Mothers laughed at us and our movie feast when we met them at the Theater :) It was a great way to end a post surgery weekend!

My to-do list this week is pretty detailed, hopefully I can get everything done before Stephen comes on Friday (YAY). One thing has been taken off my list already though-finish my 2008 scrapbook. This is a HUGE accomplishment and I was very excited when the last page was complete!
Okay, that is all I have for now. More to come later in the week! :)

No more wisdom teeth!!!
Just because I don't have my wisdom teeth, doesn't make me less wise ;) I'm still pretty sharp! Okay, so this morning Mom picked me up at 8:30 and we headed to the Dentist's office. Let me just say that last night was horrible, because I needed to keep my blood sugar up and not eat or drink anything after midnight. I went to sleep with my blood sugar 370 (that's high!!!!) and woke up this morning at 60!!! Yep, it dropped from 370, to 60 with no treatment! Unbelievable.
The first thing they did at the office was hook me up to a glucose IV, obviously. I really do not remember much after that...we were home by 10. Today has been a day of sleeping and not much else. We did watch Fools Gold, and Mamma Mia though so that's kinda exciting :)
Hunter is staying the night with me tonight to make sure I do not have a reaction to the pain meds, and to stay on me about checking my blood sugar. I love my little brother (sometimes). K-that's all I this chipmunk girl (I'm a little swollen) has for ya. Keep the prayers coming-infection is still a concern!

Its 2009!?!?
Okay, so where did the last year go? They say that the older you get the fast time goes by, and I believe that! December 28th was one year since Grandpas death, the entire family went to church with Gram that Sunday and wore yellow because it was Papa's favorite color. Its unbelievable to think that he has been gone over a year now. Wow.
On the 29th, I packed my bags and hit the road with my road trip buddy Jessie to go see Josh and Keri in Lynchburg. We spend the week at Josh's apartment and rang in the new year at Jeremy Camp concert, it was AMAZING. I have come to the general conclusion that we all have way to much fun together! It was great to have a whole week off and do nothing but sleep in, watch movies, play in the snow, go to concerts and eat lots and lots of ice cream :) It snowed while we were in Lynchburg, and actually snowed while we were leaving to come back to Florida. My little silver civic has been initiated with snow! We took a day trip to a nearby ski resort (Wintergreen) where Josh's friend Connor Thomas works. (see Connor, I mentioned you in the blog just like you asked me to!) We got to see snow and Jess made her first ever snow angel. You could def. tell we were the Florida girls because we would only stay out in the snow for like ten minutes and then go inside for 20 to thaw and warm up.
Here is the first picture of 2009, taken at the Jeremy Camp concert:

After our trip, it was back to reality for all of us. Classes started on Monday :( and I had several appointments last week at the dentist and oral surgeon. Oh yeah, my wisdom teeth will no longer be a part of me as of Thursday! I will have to let you all know how that goes ;) I will be hosting a movie watching marathon and a bring Emily ice cream or slushies party this weekend, it starts Thursday around 11am and goes straight through until Monday. Feel free to stop by!
