On Saturday, we stayed home all day and it was wonderful! I don't think that we have stayed home like that since moving in! I got a lot accomplished at the apartment and we both got some rest too. Just what we needed :)
Sunday we did some running around and errands after church, but what is exciting is that we got to go to the tree farm and pick out a Christmas wreath. They all smelled good, but I picked the one that smelled the strongest!
The finished wreath hanging on the inside of our door! It smells so good :)
Once we made it home from all our running around, we unloaded the car (two trips) and put all the groceries away. After dinner the Colts were playing and on a station that we get with our bunny ears, so The Mr. was excited about that. While he was watching the game (that I don't really care about) I was in the kitchen working on:
Gingerbread Men :)
Getting my work area ready!
So, we do not have a rolling pin...I improvised and used a glass. It totally worked for the project at hand but maybe Santa can bring me a rolling pin ;)
I used the cookie cutter off of the Kitchen Christmas Tree...clever, right?
It is working!
Don't hate on my tie-die shirt. I love it and wear it ALL.THE.TIME!
Ready to be baked...yummy!
And they are done...the kitchen smelled so yummy!
Some are plain, and some have Christmas colored sugar sprinkles on them. They look pretty in my display on the counter!
He approves...even though when I started he told me that he really does not like gingerbread cookies. I guess I changed his mind :)
After baking fun I did have a mess to clean up and then I became captivated by the newest book I am reading from the library. Shades of Blue by Karen Kingsbury is really good...so good that I had a hard time putting it down at midnight on Sunday night! I can't wait to get further into it! As you can tell, we really had a great, relaxing weekend. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are blessed!

I just found your blog and it is so cute!!
I love your gingerbread cookies, yum! We always have fun making them... I must say, using a cookie cutter from the tree and a glass as a rolling pin makes you the queen of improv for baking! nice work :)
