For the past week, basically all I can think about is our house. Moving into it, decorating it, painting it, living in it...you get the point? I have spent some time coming up with color ideas and ways to decorate using mostly things we already have now. Save money by reusing? Yes, please! My color inspiration actually comes from a wedding that I saw on a blog and I loved their colors! Plus, it also uses the main color that is currently throughout our apartment! Take a look:

I can already see our living room in my head and I cannot wait to make my vision a reality! The red will continue into our dining room-which is already painted red. Whew-painting red has proved to be difficult in the past so we are pretty excited that it is already red! There may be touches of aqua or teal in the dining room as well but something minor like a small vase or something of that nature!
Things needed:
We have two rooms to get creative with downstairs because they are rooms that we do not have in our apartment. There is a little room that we are calling the library and plan on putting a sleeper sofa in so it can double as a sitting/read area and a guest room. Currently we have one bookcase that I have had for years and it really needs to be updated. So, for this room we will be spending some money. I am excited about this room though because I have an oil painting done by my grand grandmother who was an artist that is going to be my inspiration for decorating this room. Again, there will be touches of red to create a flow with the rest of the downstairs. Also, we are thinking of using this room to house our pretty extensive DVD collection. Currently they are in our living room/hall way and I think it would be nicer if it were a little more isolated. Things needed are:
Lamp
Sleeper Sofa
The other room downstairs that will be new to us, meaning we have nothing for in it is the 1/2 bath. I am so excited to have a half bath downstairs that is easy for guest to access. This room doubles as the laundry room and is plenty large enough! We are thinking of painting this room a light, neutral gray and accenting with red rugs. This started my idea:
Just try and picture it with a red hand towel in place of the yellow one and red rugs like these.
Upstairs is still a work in progress in my mind. We have decided that we are going to paint a headboard on the wall in our upstairs guest bedroom instead of buying a wall cling costing $50+ dollars. I am pretty excited about that project! Oh, and I am also working on 2 large canvas paintings-one for upstairs and one for downstairs...more on that later!
Is this normal? This amount of planning? I sure hope so, because I am having TONS of fun doing it! Thank goodness my husband is easy going about decor and lets me pretty much do whatever I think would be best!

it sure is normal. when we got our new orders i started picking out colors and planning what to do with the master bedroom, aj's room, and the living room. i was really excited and then smashed like a little bug when i found out we couldn't paint here. but it's still fun to plan out where all the pictures and stuff is going to go.
Love it! Those are the colors I originally chose for our kitchen, but over time I focused more on the aqua with just small splashed of red. And our guest bathroom in Athens is almost identical to the one you pictured-I love the color and you will, too! xoxo
Hi Emily! This is so much FUN! and completely normal to plan this much in advance for your house! I used to spend hours on the Sherwin Williams website looking at their color visualization tool. It's so nice you have furniture and a design plan! You're going to LOVE this stage in your life so much. I remember looking at my house after it was painted and decorated and being a little sad there wasn't anything left to do.
Thanks for the sweet words about Jared. You are precious!
I love that bathroom! Especially the color of the walls!
