Weekend Wrap Up!

Well it is Monday again, so that means it is time for a weekend wrap up! This may be the only thing I look forward to about Monday's...anyone want to second me on that thought? Okay, so here goes:

This part is more of a last week wrap-up than a weekend wrap-up but it's okay! We were able to run and buy some veggie plants and pots to get our potted garden started last week. I bought the plain clay pots and then dug out my acrylic paint and brushes to jazz them up a bit. I like the way they turned out and hope that out plants like their new homes! :) We should have product popping up soon! We planted 2 different types of tomatoes, cilantro, and sweet onions. Yum!

Nothing too exciting happened on Friday...except-the sun came out! Hallelujah!!! I was able to enjoy the drive home with the windows down and sunroof open!

Friday night the hubs and I went out for dinner and did a little shopping around town before coming home and getting some sleep!

Saturday we had an appointment in Fort Wayne to get my tires balanced and rotated in efforts to make sure the car is up for the trip to Lexington, Kentucky for Brooke's wedding in less than 2 weeks! We were able to get some shopping done there too-can I just say how much I love Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons that they mail out? LOVE! Prom's must have been happening in the area because we saw lots of dresses, tux's and limos!

April Shower's have definitely brought may flowers in Indiana. Everything has popped up and the tress are covered with fragrant flowers. My favorite are the pink magnolias!

The best day of this weekend though, was Sunday. We got up and went to church like we always do but after church we met with a realtor to see several houses. Now, we did not expect to find anything and basically have just started to check out the market and see what's going on since our lease is up in September...but, we fell in love with not one, but two houses! They both are beautiful and historic with so much character!

Here is the first house, and it's highlights:

  • 128 Years Old
  • 1600 finished SF
  • Historic Site
  • 2 car garage (detached)
  • Central AC
  • Replacement Window's
  • Updated kitchen with new appliances
  • 10 foot ceilings throughout
  • Full bath upstairs (with bedrooms) 1/2 bath downstairs
  • Beautiful fireplace
  • Nice large backyard with pink magnolia tree :)
  • Basement (unfinished)
  • Screened in porch
  • Open staircase
  • Big bay window in dinning room that lets in a lot of light!
  • It's just so..."Emily"!!!
Here is the second house, and it's highlights:

  • 101 years old
  • 2300 finished SF
  • 1 car garage (detached)
  • HUGE mudroom-laundry room with lots of storage space
  • All new appliances
  • New kitchen cabinets and counter tops
  • All new flooring throughout
  • All new plumbing and electrical wiring
  • No central AC
  • Open staircase
  • Full bath downstairs
  • 1/2 bath upstairs (with bedrooms)
  • Nice front and side porch
  • Kitchen Island
  • Minimal landscaping so we could really make it our own
  • List for over a year with no offers
  • Owners bought this house to flip it and have never lived in it
  • 10 foot ceilings throughout
Aren't they both just beautiful!? We have some comparing to do and things to think about but maybe, just maybe one of these will be our first home :) It is so exciting to think about-one day, we will be able to have welcome mats and grills. Woohoo! Well, I am off to stop thinking about these houses and try to get some work done. Happy Monday everyone!

What a great weekend! I would love to grow Cilantro! I use a ton of that. Those houses are beautiful! You'll find the right one for you guys. :) We rent our house right now, but it's so much better being in a house than an apt!

These are both beautiful! We live in an older home too, and they have so much character. That would be a tough choice for me!!
