John and Ashley's engagement pictures: take one

Today I had the opportunity to take some engagement pictures for some friends. John and Ashley are friends of mine that I have known for years and they are recently engaged :) They are planning an April wedding and tonight we meet up to take some engagement photos for them. We ran out of daylight relatively quickly, so we are planning a second shoot but here are some shots from today:

We started today out on Little Talbot Island in Jacksonville thanks to John's great idea. The spot was a little difficult to get to, but so worth it. After taking pictures on the beach we the beautiful trees we headed into Downtown Jacksonville and got some good pictures there. We did not plan according to weather so we were all freezing at many points of the evening. Take two will probably take place in a few weeks, so that blog is coming soon!

St. Augustine

Looking back at some old posts, I realize that I post about St. Augustine quite a lot. It is one of my favorite places. The city is so beautiful and there are so many interesting stores and people to watch. Yes, I am a people watcher. Last weekend when Stephen was here we headed to St. Augustine...we had reservations at Columbia Restaurant (which is my favorite place to eat in St. Augustine). We also had plans to go to the beach, but the weather did not cooperate at all. Here are some pictures from our weekend together:

Note: Excuse my hair in the one picture, we were walking around St. Augustine in the rain so of course my hair went crazy!

Dinner at Columbia was amazing and Stephen loved it as much as I did. I have a feeling we might be going back to this place together and I am okay with that! I had the 1905 Salad that I always get there and Stephen had some Spanish version of stir fry with chicken and sausage. His portion was HUGE, he could not even finish it! After dinner we realized the weather was not going to be clearing up so we walked around for a little while anyways before going to Ripley's Believe It or Not. That place was interesting. Hands down...I saw some things there that I am pretty sure are not real. I guess that is why they call it Ripley's Believe It or Not huh? The name suddenly makes sense to me :)

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week and an exciting weekend. I have some engagement pictures to shoot for some friends that it should be exciting. Posts about that coming later!

it's worth it...

Sometimes when I am driving to work, I am thinking 'ugh, another day at the office...why am I doing this again?'...some mornings when I am thinking that I see this beautiful sunrise and everything is put back into perspective.

I'm doing this not for my boss, but for me and the patients that we help everyday. I'm working to do the best I can and hoping to be a light in the office for the lost. Seeing sunrises like this in the morning on the way to work puts a smile on my face and reminds me what this is all about...Praise God for little reminders to keep us motivated and going!
