The hubs and I try to make new recipes a couple times each month. Actually, when I make our monthly meal plans my goal is to try one new recipe a week. Sometimes that goal gets met, sometimes it does not. Our first new recipe for the month of April was for hot wings that you make in the crock pot. I for one love cooking in the crock pot. I love that I can get it ready the night before or in the morning and then have it ready when I get home from work. Not to mention that it makes our apartment smell oh so good too! :)
The recipe turned out to be super easy (as this blog title suggests) and delicious!
Ingredients:4lbs Chicken Wings
1 Cup BBQ Sauce
1/2 Cup Buffalo/Hot Sauce (Franks Hot Sauce)
1 Tablespoon of Brown Sugar
1/4 Honey
Directions:
Start with thawed chicken wings or drumsticks. Place all onto a broiler pan and broil for 10 minutes, or until browned on all sides. Place all browned chicken pieces into crock pot. Combine all other ingredients to make sauce and pour over chicken. Cover crock pot with lid and cook on low for 5 hours, or high for 2 1/2 hours.
Enjoy!
My husband really enjoyed these and gave them 2 thumbs up. Also, I think they are easier to eat than regular fried or baked wings because the meat practically falls off the bone. It may have been the first time I have eaten and enjoyed wings without getting my hands covered in nastiness. Totally a win-win! :)
