Ocean Avenue

If the title of this post caught your attention, you must be a Yellowcard fan. Ocean Avenue was the song playing in my head while Stephen and I had a wonderful date day/night including a drive to Daytona Beach down A1A. Last time Stephen was here we had discussed and decided to spend a day doing nothing wedding related and just spend time together. Thursday was our day, and I loved it!

We started in Orange Park and decided we wanted to go to Daytona and eat at Aunt Catfish's. Stephen had never been to Daytona, but had heard lots of talk about this restaurant and had to try it for himself. We were not in a hurry and just enjoying the time together so we drove down A1A to get there. If you are from Florida then you know that driving down A1A is beautiful, and it was!

Here are some snapshots from the day:

Our first stop for picture taking was the pier at Flager Beach. The water was so blue, it almost looked like we were in South Florida instead of North Florida. It really was beautiful! Then we were onto Daytona...woohoo! We had an early dinner at Aunt Catfish's and it was d-e-l-icous! Stephen got catfish, of course and I had meatloaf. Everything we ordered was wonderful, as expected. After Aunt Catfish's we headed to Port Orange to see the lighthouse. We were planning on climbing it, but got there after it closed. We did not let that stop us from taking some pictures though! After the lighthouse we had a short walk on the beach and then some Rita's Italian Ice for the drive home. Yummy...I love Rita's!

We had a great day together, and it was nice to get away from all the wedding planning-even though it is fun! It really is important to spend time together with no schedule or planned events. We had a great time just relaxing and enjoying Florida and each others company. Twas a great day!

We are registered!!! :)

It is official, Stephen and I have registered for wedding gifts! After a grueling 8 hours in Target, Kohls and Wal-Mart we are done! It really did take us that long, but it was enjoyable. Of course Stephen (and I think men in general) cares nothing about colors and textures as long as the item is functional. This is something I learned about him this weekend for sure! I remember asking his input on towel colors and he responded with "I really don't care what color it is, as long as it absorbs water". Well then...guess I get to make all the decorating decisions :) I'm okay with that!

I think Stephen did have fun with the scanner gun though:

See, we did have fun! Okay, now you should go look at our registry online :) I keep checking it everyday and it is like Christmas! We can't wait to start receiving gifts and celebrating with all our family and friends!

Stephen's here

Stephen is or was here this weekend and more posts are coming soon :)

wedding #3

The last wedding of the week was the Wuerffel Wedding. Stephen could not make it into town for the wedding so Keri went as my date. We had a great time and made it into our seats at 4:59 for 5:00 wedding. We are pretty good at cutting it close! Ben and Laura got married on Friday evening in Jacksonville at an outdoor wedding under a beautiful tree. The bride and flower girl were beautiful and I am so happy for the new Wuerffel family. Here are some pictures from this wedding:

* In case you did not know, or are not a Gator fan (you should be!) The handsome gentlemen Keri and I are in the picture with is Danny Wuerffel, brother of the groom and former UF Quarterback. Oh yeah!

wedding #2

The second wedding on the list is the Skipper Wedding. Josh and Erin got married Saturday evening at Oakleaf Plantation. The wedding was beautiful and the weather held up for an outdoor garden wedding just like Erin wanted, the only negative factor was the heat. We all arrived at Oakleaf at 9a.m. to start the decorating and setting up, everything was done in time for the 5p.m. wedding. It all turned out beautifully and Erin looked like a princess completed with a horse drawn carriage.

It's wedding season-wedding #1

Has anyone else felt the effects of this years wedding season? Last week and I three, yes THREE weddings in one week! The first wedding was Friday evening at Russell Baptist Church where Stephen and I will be getting married in October. John and Ashley had a beautiful recpetion with DELICIOUS food. I took many, many mental notes and snapped a picture or two:

Congratulations John and Ashley!

Strawberry Festival...yum!

As usual I am a little late in posting these pictures from a couple weeks ago, but really you shouldn't expect anything less from me :) Life is so crazy and busy all the time now it seems. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago Stephen was down for the weekend and it just happened to be the weekend of the Starke Strawberry festival. Now, this strawberry festival is nothing compared to the Plymouth Blueberry festive in Indiana but still a lot of fun with yummy food! Here are some pictures snapped:

Can you tell Hunter and I enjoyed some snow cones? yummy!
