Trusting...

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11

Trusting in the Lord today...this week...

VBS: We survived!!

This week was a very busy week! Vacation Bible School started on Father's Day and went through Thursday. My friend Savannah asked if I would help her teach the 4 year old class this year and I could not say no! The last time we did a VBS class, we taught 9 year olds and after this week and I say they are very different from this years class!

This years VBS theme was Superheros, "Where Kids Join Forces With God!" and each night we met at Hero Headquarters for singing and cheering before heading to our class rooms for Bible Study, Snack and crafts :) It was a long, tiring week but still fun and quite rewarding.

Miss Emily participated in craft time too!

How cute are these girly girls!?!

I think Joe might grow up the be a contractor of sorts, he always built huge cities with the blocks in the classroom!

Miss Savannah had fun playing dress up with our girly girls :)

Kids really do say the funniest things. I had quite a few chuckles this week. I will make a post about them soon to share!

The wedding cake...

...is DELICIOUS!

Last weekend I was able to sample our wedding cake. The bakery basically made it into two cupcakes that were so cute! I had just picked Hunter up from wakeboarding and then we rushed to Mom and Dad's house so we could all taste it together. Everyone liked it! Can't wait to have it on the big day!

See you in 99 days on October 2nd :)

Got wake?

Hunter last weekend competed in his first wakeboarding competition in Jacksonville. Mom and I were there all day and Danny came too. I had no idea that these are all day things, and it is really really hot! Hunter had told us to wear our swimsuits because we were allowed to swim in the lake. Unfortunately, we did not listen to him partially because we had no idea what we were in store for. Next time (July 10th) we will wear our suits!

Hunter did great in the Novice category and is looking forward to his next competition. I think I better get used to these because they are going to be a regular in his schedule!

We'll let you know how it goes in July :)

Summer is here!

Sticky summer is officially here in Florida, I think this serves are proof:

Yep, it is hot here!! Time to hit the beach :)

Roomies

My roomie this week:

My parents are out of town on a mountain vacation so I have been watching the family dogs for the week. This one is Bristol, and he only looks cute and Innocent! This little dog will attack you when you least expect it...ask Stephen! He is really cute once he warms up to you though!

Question of the Day!

"How is wedding planning going?" I think I am asked this question on a daily basis now. I don't mind, because I L.O.V.E. talking and thinking about the wedding! Actually, it is 115 days away as of today! I am so excited to marry my best friend :) To answer the question, planning is going very well! Things are getting accomplished and I am daily crossing things off my to-do list!

Things accomplished:
*Dress purchased
*Shoes purchased
*All 5 bridesmaid dresses ordered
*Jr. bridesmaid and flower girl dresses ordered
*Boutonnieres picked out
*Cake ordered
*Church booked, with the Pastor
*Honeymoon booked
*Wedding rings purchased
*4 out of 8 men fitted for Tux's
*Rehearsal dinner planned and reserved
*Save the Dates mailed

I know we still have a lot to plan, but we are getting things accomplished. The wedding is coming up soon...YAY!

Atlanta

As you know from previous posts, Stephen and I were headed to Atlanta for his grandfather's funeral. I loved meeting all of his family members (some from Hawaii) and only wish that the circumstances of our meeting could have been different. We spent the weekend celebrating the wonderful life his Grandfather lived.

*NOTE: Planning a wedding, and being such a romantic I really was in awe that Stephen's grandparents were married for 68 years. What an amazing example to have set for their children and grandchildren!? Stephen and I are both so thankful for the loving families and Godly marriages we have seen and learned from!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again in October :)

Savannah, Georgia (Historic City #2)

Last weekend Stephen and I had to travel to the Atlanta area for his grandfathers funeral. Stephen had the wonderful suggestion of driving up through Savannah on the way and taking our time getting there. Of course, I thought it was a great idea! He was such a gentleman and even did all the driving (while I napped!) We made it to Savannah in time for a late lunch on the river in the historic district and had some time to do some window shopping too! Here is the proof:

We ended up eating lunch at Vic's On The River. I have to say my review is a negative one, but Stephen L.O.V.E.D. his fried flounder sandwich. I guess it depends on what you order :) After a couple hours in Savannah we were back on the road towards Atlanta...

(singing) On the road again... :)

St. Augustine (Historic City #1)

Two weekends ago Stephen and his parents were in Florida visiting. The weekend trip was planned for our families to meet and also to make plans for our rehearsal dinner. We accomplished both of those tasks with time leftover to play, so we headed to St. Augustine for an afternoon in the Nation's Oldest City. Here are some pictures from our excursion:

I had fun in the St. Augustine information center with Stephen. Who knew starfish stink...really bad!?! Stephen can confirm that! We all had a great time!
