Weekend Wrap Up :)

Sunday morning I was thinking this was going to be the weekend that I did not take any picture. By Sunday afternoon I had proved myself very wrong! :) I should start with Friday...

Friday night The Mr. and I headed to Applebee's to use one of the gift cards we still had from our wedding. We actually still have a few more too! We loved getting so many gift cards as wedding gifts :) After Applebee's we have some errands to run...I say some, but really we had a lot. A lot as in we did not get home until 11:30pm. Just to help paint the picture of how many errands we had; I will just say that we had dinner at 6pm. See? A lot of errands!

Okay, so onto Saturday. It was HOT in Northern Indiana. Like hotter than back home in Jacksonville, Florida hot. I slept in until after 10 and let me just say that it was wonderful! We had a low key morning trying to stay cool (read: stand in front of our only window AC unit in the apartment and fight over cold air). Our oldest niece, Emma was playing a softball tourney not far from our house so we headed that way to catch her 2:30pm game. It was HOT. And my blood sugar dropped-but that's another story...after her game we headed back to our apartment with our youngest niece, Hadley. She was pooped from playing at the park and being all sweaty. The Mr. and I bet on how fast she would fall asleep and she was out within a mile from leaving the park! Since we do not live far from the sports complex she only got a short nap and woke up when Stephen carried her upstairs. We decided it was a great time for a cool bath so she could go "swimming". Of course she wanted bath toys (which we have none of), but I thought quick and gave her a cup and a big paint brush. Stephen just laughed and rolled his eyes at my cleverness but it totally entertained her! Fast forward after Despicable Me to dinner and a rain storm. The Mr. and I ended the night with a couple episodes of my favorite show ever, Friends.

Hello, Sunday!!! On Sunday's we do laundry at my BIL and SIL's house after church. We always have to laundry baskets of dirty clothes to carry down to the car. Plus my purse and our Bible. That alone is a task but I decided to make it even more complicated this week. I had my heart set on painting something Sunday, so along with the normal load to carry down to the car we also had a bag with our bathing suits and beach towels, a bag of spray paint (5 cans), an end table from our living room, AND a bag of supplies to make a cake stand. Can you believe we got all that stuff downstairs and in the car in one trip? One trip!?!?

After church, switching laundry and lunch we took the girls with us to town in search for a sprinkler to play in. We actually ended up with an inflatable family pool which brought hours of fun for me and the girls. Stephen said he was not enjoying it each time I asked him, but I think he secretly was :) These pictures speak for themselves:

Oh and the painting that I had my heart set on? Here is a sneak peak:
(more on this later!)

We ended our afternoon sun kissed and full after eating some KFC. It was a great Sunday for us! We left and headed home after eating and finishing the last of our laundry just in time to watch the sun slowly setting on our drive home. It was beautiful to watch while we drove through the country and corn fields!

The picture was taken at 9:04pm and I took a picture of the time just for verification. I know that when I have talked to some family and friends in Florida and mentioned how it stays light here for so long they are in disbelief. Well, it is true. Our days are long and it has not been getting dark until after 9:30! My body fights sleep when it is still daylight outside so this makes going to bed early a little hard for me. I am so not complaining though-I love the long days!

I really hope this week goes by quickly because I am so looking forward to spending this weekend in Indianapolis for Serena and Jonathan's wedding!

Happy Monday! :)
