Snickerdoodles!

I am a cupcake person. It is no secret that I love me some cupcakes. But, you might not know that I am also a cookie person. Specifically a snickerdoodle cookie person. I don't like chocolate in my cookies, but I do love Cinnamon and sugar. What is your favorite cookie recipe?
Here is the recipe I love:

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Cream together butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, the eggs and the vanilla. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded spoonfuls into balls.
  3. Mix the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not too hard. Remove immediately from baking sheets.
I have made these at home and they turned out delicious. Take them off the baking sheets quickly thought because otherwise they get a little too crispy. Serve them at breakfast with OJ as an after dinner treat!

ENJOY!

I love sweets, but I rarely make them. Mainly because after having one or two, I don't want to eat them and I'm stuck with 2 dozen cupcakes or 4 dozen cookies! I love Snickerdoodle cookies though. Choc chip will always be my fave!

I love love LOVE snickerdoodles!! I am practically drooling right now :)
I have to admit, baking is NOT my favorite thing to do in the world. Actually I hate it. Haha poor husband :) But I do like baking snickerdoodles! Probably because they are so yummy in my tummy and I've never had a batch turn out bad :) Thank goodness for that!
