Am I the only person that thinks Monday comes way too fast? I seriously feel like it was just Friday! Ugh...even though Monday showed up in record time we did have a great weekend! Actually, last week was not too bad either :)
We have been taking advantage of the nicer weather and the extended hours of daylight each day by going outside. There are many trails and paths to walk/jog/bike in our community and we found one that we both love. The path is actually located across the street from our apartment and is part of the local elementary school but is open to the public as well. Let me introduce you to the "Fit Path"...err, I think that is what it is called...anyways, every so often there are these stations that you stop at and do the exercise that is demonstrated. There is a balance beam, station for push-ups and crunches, stretching stations, pull up stations and several others. The path is paved, so it is easy to walk or jog on. Really it is a lot of fun and you get to enjoy the nice outdoors too. The weather was gorgeous the other day when we went!
Friday night was homemade pizza night again and we were pretty creative! We had a small amount of ground beef that needed to be used, only it was less than a pound so I browned it up and added some sweet & spicy BBQ sauce and tada, yummy bbq meat to top my pizza with. I also cut up some pineapple, onions and ham to add. The hubs had the meatiest pizza I have ever seen. His had to cook way longer than mine because of all his toppings...it was intense I tell ya!
So I have been pretty captivated by the latest Karen Kingsbury books I have been reading...okay, totally captivated. I may have been reading while I topped my pizza :) Notice how I have the pan and the potholder positioned so paged are not flying? Skill is what that is called!
My own version of Hawaiian BBQ pizza and it was SO good!
There is probably an inch of meat toppings underneath his cheese, seriously!
Saturday we were able to sleep in and it was so nice. I look forward to Saturday almost all week just because I know I can sleep in. I love to sleep :) We had some errands to run in the afternoon but we took it easy for most of the morning. In the afternoon we hit Hobby Lobby to stock up on items needed for my soon to be sister-in-law's bridal shower that is coming up soon!
While at Hobby Lobby we also picked up some things for our home. I had gotten this framed 10 Commandments from Kirklands a couple weeks ago and had a vision of crosses on the other wall...I knew Hobby Lobby had what I wanted. The hubs even found something he wanted...at Hobby Lobby, can you believe it!?!
Corner of our bedroom, previously the walls were bare. They needed some sprucing up :) Ignore my humidifier...I grew up in Florida and I need some humidity in my life!
This is the cross The Mr. found and had to have. I loved it also and the fact that it was considered "Easter Decor" and was 50% off did not hurt either. It's new home is in our living room!
*we have some other new things at home too, but I keep forgetting to photograph them. I will try and remember to do that this week!
Saturday evening we watched a Redbox movie in between the hubs catching various basketball games. I also baked this cake, but that is another post all together!
Sunday we made it to church, but not Sunday School which was totally my fault. remember how I mentioned I was captivated with my current reading? Yeah, well I read until about 2a.m. on Sunday morning so when the alarm went off only one of us sprang out of bed! We had a great lunch with all of my in-laws and then spent the rest of the afternoon doing laundry. I was able to catch some of the Country Music Awards, but missed a lot of it. I really hope I did not miss Garth Brooks perform!
Who else had a fun weekend?
